“The biggest embrace of love you’ll ever make is to embrace yourself completely. Then you’ll realize you’ve just embraced the whole universe and everything and everybody in it.”
Hey guys. I hope you have all been well since I last wrote. The big weekend that we (mostly the ladies :)) have all been waiting for is finally here. VALENTINES!!!!! YAAAAAS. If you can’t already tell, I am very excited. One of my favourite things this time of the month is getting to dress up for the dates and boy don’t I slay. If I do say so myself. Hehe. Anyways, this time round I am just going to keep it simple, since my dates happen to be during the day but it’s all good for I shall compensate in the hair and makeup department.
After a year of transitioning, I recently decided to snip off the last of my relaxed hair so that I could seal my membership as a naturalista . It has been an interesting journey of learning to embrace myself , being patient with not only my hair, experimenting with products and my texture and also new hair styles, and also stirring up conversations wherever I go even with strangers merely by the fact that my hair is natural. Its been beautiful and lovely, and I am glad that my hair has enabled me to wholly embrace myself and those around me.
As I thought of what to do with my hair this special weekend, my mom came to my aid as always. I am not good with braiding cornrows so whenever I feel inspired to try any protective styles that involve them I tend to run to my mom. All I need is to show her the video tutorial on youtube and she works her magic. For this look which I shall be rocking this romantic weekend , I showed her this video by ulovemegz and I think it turned out great. What do you think?
