Turmeric has to be the one thing with 101 purposes in this world and have 1000 benefits without me having to exaggerate.
Hi guys. I hope you are all well and your week has been nothing short of awesome. Today’s post is going to be the second part of THE FACIALS X MASKS SERIES and if you did not get the chance to read the first part you can get it here.
Turmeric if you did not know my dear friend, is not only used as one of the most fetching culinary spices, it is also used for arthritis, headaches, heartburn, stomach pain, diarrhoea, loss of appetite, jaundice, liver and kidney problems, bronchitis, menstrual problems, alzheimers disease, inhibits cancer and my favourite, ACTS AS A SECRET BEAUTY WEAPON as the list continues.
If you thought part 1 was a great discovery, wait until I finish this post and the next one. Turmeric is a beauty weapon which can be made in various ways depending on what resources are available in your kitchen or what type of skin you have. And depending on the items you choose for your home made mask, the benefits from the turmeric are always going to be the same or differ slightly.
Today, I am going to do the most basic turmeric face mask which is also known for increasing skin radiance, reducing wrinkles and moisturising dry skin . Ingredients used are as simple as;
- 1/4 Teaspoon Turmeric
- 1 Teaspoon Milk/Yoghurt
Gently remove your make up if you have any. Cleanse your face using your favourite cleanser . If your hair is long, tie it up at the back. And then wear a T-shirt you are not too attached to, in case it gets stained (because the stains are difficult to get rid of).
Preparing Your Face Mask
- Mix the tumeric and the milk/yoghurt into a fine paste.
- Apply a thin layer to your face and let it dry for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Rinse off with water, scrubbing gently to remove and see the transformation.
- Apply your favourite moisturiser.

Benefits of using these on your skin:
Turmeric: It helps with acne, anti-ageing, skin brightening and inflammation.
Milk: makes the face look more radiant, smoothens your skin, prevents premature ageing, removes stains on your skin, shrinks pores, cures irritation, reduces irritation and allergic skin reaction, helps heal wounds, nourishes and softens skin and last but not least exfoliates dead skin cells.
Will it stain your face?
Surprisingly, the turmeric face mask does not stain (turn your face yellow or orange). But I definitely recommend you apply thin layer, the more you pile on the greater your chances of staining, especially on your neck where skin is thinner. The first time I tried a mask with turmeric it stained my hands and it was not pretty. So what I do now is wrap my entire right hand (because I am right handed) in a polythene paper then scoop the mask and apply. this leaves zero chances of staining.
The mask I tried out for this post is mostly for dry skin. Next post I will share an interesting Turmeric mix for all skin types and also for oily skin.
Hope you enjoyed this as much as you did the last.
Thank you for stopping by!!!
